Ally Clarke

Ally ClarkeAlly’s career started in the NHS where she practised as a mental health therapist. Recognising the parallels with business she moved into the commercial world, initially with an international research and training consultancy. Here, like her colleague Andy Blanshard, she explored the differences at work between ‘skilled’ and ‘average’ performers and designed training and consultancy interventions to share that learning and build capability.

One of her clients, Coopers & Lybrand Management Consultancy (now PwC), invited Ally to join the firm to reengineer the business development processes for the UK business. Highlights included coaching the Leadership Team and the creation of an international unit to support commercial bids which improved the ‘win-rate’ on bids to 1 in 2.

Once the business development processes were established Ally turned her attention to client work in the areas of strategy, change management and communication, leading and directing a range of UK and international assignments. Taking on a new challenge of this nature is typical of the kind of challenge Ally enjoys.

A growing family led to Ally working closer to home with a growing, ambitious Yorkshire-based consultancy. Here she had responsibility for business development and HR consultancy.

In 2003 she realised a long-held ambition to work independently. Her work includes change management, business development, leadership, performance management, coaching and teamwork. She collaborates with the Institute of Management Development (Lausanne) and Cranfield Business School for some clients.

Ally has an MBA and has also studied at Warwick University and Templeton College, Oxford. Her commitment to continuing personal development brings new fresh opportunities and ideas to her work.
